I don't know if 18 mo old should still use baby tooth paste or some with fluoride in it. any suggestions?

Taste: I would stick with a childrens tp for now . Taste is a big issue with children. We want to teach them how to 'get the sugar bugs off' their teeth so the 'sugar bugs do not eat the teeth'. If you do not have a tp your childs likes don't worry, water will work. It is the mechanical action of the brush that does the job. Keep it light and fun, make it a game so you and your child enjoy the brushing.

Keep it small: No matter what type of paste you use, use a small amount; about the size of a pea.

Baby toothpaste: Until they are capable of reliably rinsing and spitting with out swallowing all children should use a toothpaste with out fluoride. For some children this may be up to age 4 years old.
