Depends : It depends on how much toothpaste. If you don't know then call poison control. I would not recommend Fluoride toothpaste for children because of this danger. Avoid cavities with diet.

That Depends: If they only swallowed a small amount (how much is typically used for brushing) then you dont have to do anything. If they swallowed a larger amount then you should have them drink a cup of milk asap. They may throw up. Two year olds should not be using a Fluoride toothpaste. Use an infant toothpaste with no Fluoride in the future and keep your Fluoride toothpaste out of their reach.

Should be OK: Your child should be using about a pea-sized portion of kid's fluoridated toothpaste every time (s)he brushes. To do harm, your child would have to swallow many tubes of t'paste at one time, or large amounts slowly over a long period of time. Your child should be under the care of a Dentist or specialist Pedodontist since 1st b'day. Call him/her or poison control center to review amount swallowed.
