See below: Actually, look at it a little differently. Forget herpes, which has no known association with cidp, but if an anti-gm-1 test is done and there is elevation of igg, not igm, this would alter the diagnosis to multifocal motor neuropathy (mmn), which is a similar disorder to cidp, but may be handled differently in some cases.
