It's more complex...: The human body likes to use glucose (a sugar, thus a carb), which comes from the food in the stomach & small intestine, and from the liver (where glucose is stored in a starch form called glycogen). As long as one is not eating enough to supply glucose to his cells, his liver will run low on glucose/glycogen, and his body will burn other fuels like fat (and even protein) to keep his cells working.

Become a fat buttone: Humans have 2 metabolisms sugar burner and fat burner. If you want to burn fat become a fat burner, eat a low carb diet, eat seasonally (no bananas in winter) this is the natural human metabolism. Why do you think we store body fat? Because we are supposed to predominantly exist in a fat burning metabolism we are supposed to switch to sugar burning in late summer/fall when sugar exists: fruits.
