Depends: Nitrazepam is a benzodiazepine not available in the usa. Ideally this would be tapered in close consultation with prescribing physician and the label recommends not stopping it without such contact. The taper would depend on the dose and how long use. I found one reference to using valium, which has a longer half-life and is available in smaller increments, in equal doses to complete the taper.

Nitrazepam.: Nitrazepam (Mogadon) is a benzodiazepine hypnotic that is used short-term relief of severe anxiety or insomnia. It has not been approved by the FDA for marketing in USA. I agree with having the prescribing doctor work with you on a taper. If you have developed a tolerance, consider working with an addiction medicine specialist.
