Which cysts?: Ovarian cysts or acne cysts? For acne doxy can be given upto 6 months as it acts on a bacteria called propionibacterium acnes which causes inflammation in the acne affected skin.In pid / ovarian cysts with suspected infecion, Doxycycline is given both as an inpt. Or as an outpt. Antibiotic , most of the times in addition to another abx.Like Ampicillin /cephlosporin inj/oral.Twice doxy alone sometim.
