Yes: Short term yes but long term you need a more comprehensive diet.
Dr. Martin Fried

Yes: By eating more fresh fruits and especially vegetables which are lower in carbohydrates compared to processed foods such as high calories such as cakes, you could lose weight by taking in less calories and feeling fuller. Calorie restriction or portion control is another way to lose weight. However, the smaller size of what youre eating may not be as satisfying as having more fruits and vegetables.

Meet with dietician: If a woman follows any diet plan uncommon in the us, her physician may request that she keep a food diary and meet with a dietician. To avoid lost time or disruption of a healthful eating pattern, it might be wise for a woman trying to conceive (ttc) or pregnant to begin the diary before seeing the OB provider. Then at the next visit referral to a registered dietician can be scheduled if needed.

Yes: Yes but...You need to make sure you are still getting plenty of calories. I'd recommend doing the common sense things - eating healthy foods, exercising, but not going crazy with calorie restriction.

Do detox diets really work for weight loss?

1 doctor answer6 doctors weighed in
Dr. Janet Greenhut
Preventive Medicine 43 years experience
No: The only thing that works for weight loss in the long term is eating less and being more physically active. Making temporary changes and then going back to usual eating habits will result in gaining back the weight you lost. Check out this site to learn about fad diets: http://www.Eatright.Org/public/.
