A 46-year-old member asked:
Why do people go on low carbs and low fat diets as compared to low calorie diets to shed the weight off?

Rheumatology 50 years experience
Because........: Low fat diets are by definition low calorie, since fat as 9 kcal per gram, compared with 4 for protein and carbs. Low carb diets benefits people who put weight on the middle by improving weight, controlling lipids, etc. Apples-low carb! pears-low fat!
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
