How long would it take for the something to no longer be in my breastmilk?

Depends!: This depends on the "something!" many drugs and substances can be passed through breast milk. The time it takes to "clear" all depends on the specific substance and its particular biochemistry.

Depends: It depends on the substance. Physicians may refer to the elimination half life of the substance from breast milk. That is the time that it takes for half the substance to be eliminated. After 2 half lives 3/4 is eliminated. After 3 half lives 7/8, etc.
