A While: Ideally, you should not be taking ms contin (morphine) at all while breastfeeding. The half-life of this drug (the time for 1/2 to be metabolized) is about 12 hours. To be safe, i would wait at least 24 hours before breastfeeding again. Please talk with your physician about alternatives to ms contin (morphine) as you continue to breastfeed.
