Cavities, abscess,: Depends where the pain is: upper, lower, all over or in one spot. Does it hurt all the time or just when you chew? Could be a cavity, malocclusion, TMJ syndrome, abscess. See your dentist.

Many possibilities: It could be muscle pain, tooth pain, nerve pain, pain from ligaments or tendons, an infection, or a tumor. Best thing to do is to see a doctor who can diagnose the cause of the pain. I would start with a dentist because the most common cause of jaw pain is from a tooth.

Depends: Lots of structures associated with jaw. How do you know it's not TMJ. You need to see an oral surgoen for advice. I'm in Sacramento and would be happy to evaluate you. 916-570-3088
