Many possibilities: It could be muscle pain, tooth pain, nerve pain, pain from ligaments or tendons, an infection, or a tumor. Best thing to do is to see a doctor who can diagnose the cause of the pain. I would start with a dentist because the most common cause of jaw pain is from a tooth.
