Case dependant: Usually you will have a temporary bridge which gets cemented onto the surrounding teeth. Sometimes due to circumstances the dentist may need construct a temporary removable denture, often referred to as a flipper. The options depend upon the circumstances of the individual case making this question harder to directly answer.

A temporary bridge.: A temporary bridge can be made that will function the same as the final fixed bridge, just made with acrylic instead of metal and porcelain. A temporary removable partial denture can also be used.

Several Options: Essix retainer temporary partial denture (flipper) both of these are removable--you have to take them out to clean them, but are fairly inexpensive. You cannot really eat very well with the essix retainer in place.

Flipper: A removable acrylic partial denture , affectionately known as a "flipper" , is most common. If you have insurance, be careful -- usually if you send in for this to be covered, you will not get covered for a fixed bridge or a removable metal/acrylic partial. Think about implants. See your prosthodontist for options - they are the experts.

Flipper: An interim removable partial denture, or flipper, is the most common and easiest way for temporary tooth replacement. There are limitations with a flipper but will usually do the job for daily activities such as work or school. Depending on the plan for treatment you may also have the option for a temporary bridge, but this will be at the discretion of your dentist. Talk to your dentist to find ou.

Several options: A temporary bridge may be done. Or some type of a temporary partial made as a "flipper' or with the essix type design. I would discuss these with your dentist to see what is the best option for you.
