Patch on gums: Depends on how long it has been there, and how it's been since you had a dental examination. It could be an infection, tarter buildup, gum disease, an ulcer, a malignant lesion. See your dentist for a visual and clinical examination.

A little worried: Go see an oral surgeon, any oral surgeon, and have it looked at. He may want to take a sample. 99% of all white patches are nothing at all.

See your dentist: Leukoplakia is a greyish/ white patch that develops in the mouth. It is caused by chronic irritation and should be checked by your dentist.

White patch: All white patches in the mouth of more than 10 days duration should be examined. You don't have to worry because a knowledgeable answers at hand. see your Dentist, or Preferably an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, for examination, possible biopsy, and treatment. 99% of white lesions in the mouth are absolutely nothing to worry about, but get checked to make sure it isn't the 1%.
