Abscess: Sounds like an abscess. Get to the Dentist ASAP to get this checked and treated. Go next business day - don't wait. Meantime, hot salt water rinses (1 tsp/10 oz ) 3-5 times /day and ibuprofen/alleve for the inflammation. Good Luck.

Possible abscess: Is there a history of trauma to the area? Go to the dentist to have a clinical and radiographic examination to take care of the problem and to ascertain the etilology. Either way, it appears that an abscess is evident and needs to be addressed ASAP.
