A member asked:

Iv had tubes in my ears for a yr or so. well i started to not hear well lately, then found out from my dr that my tubes had fallen out. can this cause my bad hearing? my ears also itch

Possible recurrence: No, the migration of the tube out of the ear drum should not cause hearing loss. Itching of the ear usually means dryness and can be relieved by mineral oil, three drops in the ear canal as needed. If the hearing is down, you may have a recurrence of middle ear fluid. See your ENT doctor for an evaluation.
