A member asked:

For severe neuropathy i'm on cymbalta (duloxetine) 60mg daily. about to add amitriptyline 50mg daily. any interactions? concerned about mood alteration effects.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Serotonin drugs: taking both medications may increase your risk for serotonin syndrome. Mirtazapine may be a better adjunct to duloxetine. Duloxetine could be raised to a higher dose first. If additional treatment is needed, consider mirtazapine augmentation
