Can barium swallow test show an esophageal diverticulum which was not seen with upper endoscopy 2 months ago?

Eso diverticulum: This is possible but not very common. The reason for this may be the fact that the endoscopy failed to diagnose the diverticulum or that it developed in the interim. Barium swallow is very sensitive test for diverticulum. Also, doing an endoscopy in this case can be dangerous since the endoscope may perforate the diverticulum.
