A member asked:

40% ef, 115/65 bp, 57 yrs, is it okay to brisk walk 40 mins daily ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With caution: A 40 % ejection fraction suggests prior damage to your heart. You may have had a stent placed. With your doctor's support it is safe to carefully work up to a brisk 40 min walk daily. If you have access to a cardiac rehab clinic use it. Stop if you develop shortness of breath or chest pain. Do not walk alone until you have established you can walk briskly every day for a few weeks.
