A member asked:

Is it possible for a high protein, low carb, low fat of about 800-900 calories a day diet to give a false negative on a pregnancy test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: Since the test measures the presence (for a positive test) of the hormone hCG, no foods or diet changes will affect the test result--either positive or negative. HCG is produced by specific cells in the developing placenta.
