Stop Amitriptyline? : Amitriptyline, a TCA antidepressant, which may b rx'ed for illnesses including pain, Headaches, and IBS, when taken for long periods of time, can have a mild discontinuation syndrome if stopped abruptly (symptoms may include nausea, headache, malaise). Never stop a medication without the instruction of ur prescribing MD. Even if you don't have discontinuation sxs, u'll need a new tx for ur IBS!
