Gastro prescribed elavil (amitriptyline) (25mg) for crohn's/ibs. took it in evening, knew could cause drowsiness. slept 14 hrs & exhausted. better way to take it?

Lower dose, maybe: You might want to ask your doctor about a lower dose of Elavil (amitriptyline) -- it also comes in a 10mg size. If you slept for 14 hours and were exhausted after 25 mg at bedtime, this may have been too strong for you.
