Nutrition: Sounds like your gut needs healing, the kind of that takes time but can be done through learning what foods not only do not harm you, but that actually provide the nutrients your body needs to heal. You also need probiotics. Enlist the help of a nutritionist. There are many books and websites out there, but they can be overwhelming if you don't know where to start.

Continue med.: Go back to the dose that did not cause symptoms and stay on it for another 3 days , then continue to cut back. The dose of Amitriptyline is too small to cause discontinuation syndrome but what appears to be happening is a recurrence of your IBS-D.You will need to go back to your doctor and see if another medication can be used that will help the IBS-D without affecting the the fetus.
