A member asked:

My 2 year old has swelling from an unknown bug bite. it has more than quadrupled in size in 14 hrs. isn't bothering her. should i bring her in?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See her PCP: This may be a simple arthus reaction to the bite but the kids PCP can confirm or exclude this before the weekend. The capillaries sometimes act like soaker hoses and lay down a lot of serum to dilute any debris injected in a bite. The process can be dramatic, and takes days to go away.
