How wide is the colonoscopy camera thing they stick up your butt? how far does it go in? i'm anxious about it and picturing something from the movie aliens.

Not as bad...: Not as bad as you might imagine. It is usually done under sedation and even though any type of procedure carries its risks for complications, most of the time this is an uneventful procedure. How far does it go? It all depends what they want to look at and if it is a sigmoidoscopy( shorter) or colonoscopy. You would have to ask your GI provider.
