A member asked:

Father died unexpectedly at age 43 from ventricular a-fib; when should his young son see a cardiologist? what tests are recommended for son?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Teenager?: My guess would be during his school years; normally the heart trace will be recorded (EKG) and ultrasound study of the heart chambers and valves (echocardiogram). I am not a cardiologist myself and would invite comments/ responses from my colleagues
