Yes: Persistent pain in this area warrants a gynecological exam and appropriate diagnostics. Your gyn or fp can perform. Call your fps office and ask if they also do gyn exams.

Either one: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation. An obgyn or an family doctor can help organize the evaluation.

Either: Persistent lower abdominal pain may be a sign of a serious condition, and should be evaluated by either of your doctors, who can refer you to an appropriate specialist if needed.
