Any toothpaste: With flouride is fine. Whitening toothpaste contains mild abrasives and stain dissolving properties. It can whiten the natural teeth but the stain absorbed by the cement in the bracket will remain. It can cause sensitivity though especially on the neck areas of the teeth where there's usually gum recession.

Yes you can.: How well you brush is more important than which toothpaste you use.

Whitening: Whitening should really be done after the braces come off. If you use a whitening agent diligently while braces are on, the area around the braces will be whiter, but the area behind the brace will not whiten. Talk to both your dentist and your orthodontist and plan for whitening when you're in retainers.

Sure: while a slim chance you will whiten teeth around the brackets and cause a discoloration, if its a choice of this toothpaste or not brushing, then use it. if you don't care, avoid the whitening for now
