A member asked:

How traumatic is allograft gum grafting to the patient-2 teeth first visit with other grafts after healed-in the hands of a capable dental specialist?

Manageable: Having an allograph means your surgeon doesn't have to harvest bone from another site, which is generally considered to be more invasive and traumatic than an allograft. A good surgeon will be able to help you manage any discomfort you may have during your recovery after a surgery.

Allografts: In the hands of a capable surgeon, bone grafting has become a routine and relatively atraumatic procedure. Each case is different depending upon the patient's medical history, extent of surgical area and periodontal breakdown as well as the individual variance in pain threshold and recuperative powers.
