Choices, Priorities: Each patient has to decide on what's important to them regarding treatment: Quality of care, experience, training, prestige of practice, compassion, cost, convenience, sedation offered, staff, friendliness, results of treatment, decor, insurance coverage, etc.? I know what's important to me. You have to decide on what's important to you. Wouldn't it be nice if every office had everything?

Dental sedations: "Premedication" for ANY procedure, especially "before coming to the office" is dangerous--especially in the extremes of age (kids and elderly) who may actually stop breathing. For oral operations nitrous oxide must be inhaled nasally continually. Nervous patients mouth breathe making it ineffective. Few dentists or physicians have training (or licensure) to sedate patients. Find one who does.

No Need: There is no specific need to do either of these un less your medical history or anxiety history requires it. If so, then find an equally skilled specialist who can provide these for you. Good Luck .
