PTSD Diagnosis: I'm sorry you had childhood torture experiences, but glad you've been working with a psychologist. What did the np change your diagnosis to? It sounds like you object to the change? You could discuss this with him/her. Someone could have more than one diagnosis at the same time, as one might not cover all issues. Most np's don't do talk therapy; i hope you still have a psychologist. Be well.

Clarify DX: If you are not in agreement with your new therapist's diagnosis, discuss it with them. Ask them to clarify their differential diagnosis with you. If the therapists approach to treatment is helpful to you, ask yourself what is it about the diagnosis that concerns you. You can always seek out another professional to work with.
