Don't age but also : It is a x-ray term used to described normal aging process of the spine. It may not cause any symptoms. However, smoking and being overweight can accelerate rate of it occurring which can then lead to symptoms which are best managed by smoking cessation, weight control and regular exercise including core strengthening, flexibility and cardiovascular routines.
