What causes spondylosis?

Multiple Causes: Normal aging, trauma, infection, arthritis are some of the main causes.

Spondylosis means : Degenerative changes of the spine that occur primarily with age but can be accelerated by other factors such as smoking, deformity, obesity to name a few. Genetics can also play a role. Sometimes it can lead to instability and deformity or even spinal stenosis. Disc surgery will accelerate the process as can a fusion leading to adjacent level changes.
