Depends: Spondylosis refers to degeneration of the disks and joints of the spine leading to bone spur formation. If these bone spurs compress nerves or the spinal cord then serious neurological problems can develop. Best to have your condition checked by a spinal surgeon to determine if you condition can be watched safely.

Spondylosis means : Degenerative changes of the spine that occur primarily with age but can be accelerated by other factors such as smoking, deformity, obesity to name a few. Genetics can also play a role. Anterior refers to the front part if the spine typically meaning bone spurs forming off the disc space edges or vertebral body endplates.
