Is it a good idea to be using mouthwash after eating sweets?

Candy: Candy is awfully yummy. You can eat whatever you'd like and you can rinse out with whatever you'd like. The key is for the candy to have as little playtime on your teeth as possible. Water is sufficient post-binge.

Mouthwash: Sweets have a tendency to stick between your teeth. Rinsing with mouthwash or water after eating anything is helpful, but it is not as effective as brushing and flossing. Especially at bedtime.
