See doctor....: The symptoms you describe could be due to a low oxygen level and/or a high carbon dioxide level. He may need supplemental oxygen which may improve the situation. He needs to see a doctor asap; take him to the er if these symptoms are worsening.

Some concern: He needs a blood gas to determine if his carbon dioxide level is high and what his oxygen level is. Memory loss may be related to both issues. Treatment with oxygen and bipap may be helpful.
