About...: 60% of your total daily caloric intake should be in the form of carbohydrates. What is more important though for your health is your total daily caloric intake which should match your daily expenditure.

KINDS of carbs: Most resources suggest between 45% - 65% of foods to be carbohydrates, but that doesn't mean all bread! you need to be smart about the type of carbs you eat also. Vegetables and fruits are carbohydrates, and if your blood sugar is "a little bit on higher side" you need to emphasize veggies and complex (not simple like sugar) carbohydrates.
