A member asked:

My doctor gave me 20 mg of propranolol for my heart beat it was between 115-126 and pressure was 150/75 after the medicine it is 105-109 heart rate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

How do you feel?: The heart rate isn't what's important: how you feel is what's important. I gather you're pregnant? Has your thyroid been checked? Have you had an echocardiogram to rule out peripartum cardiomyopathy? If all is well, and if you're troubled by the heart rate, the dose could be increased. Alternatively, Acebutolol is an even safer beta blocker in pregnancy.
