i have hyperthyroidism and the dr put me on 10mg propranolol for heart palps. is it ok to continue light exercise? will the med decrease my pressure?

Yes: It's ok to exercise and propranolol has the potential to lower BP but even if 10 mg taken four times a day, the effect on BP will be minimal because the dose is small.

No: Murmurs that are not caused by an abnormality are common. They are called "functional murmurs", and are of no concern whatsoever.

Depends, murmur due to a Bicuspid Aortic Valve, a Ventriculoseptal Defect (VSD), a patent Ductus Arteriosus, or others can have serious implications. You need to specify what the Murmur is due to, while it could be just a functional murmur, others may require further treatment.

Ask your MD: Assuming you are taking your Lipitor (atorvastatin) for primary prevention(you have high cholesterol)and Lisinopril for htn, it may be possible.A healthful diet and exercise can eliminate some of the risk factors that predispose us to these conditions.Even if you can't get rid of the meds, these healthy practices will yield tremendous benefits.See some recent exercise updates at www.Whatscookingwithdoc.Com.
