No and Yes: No, they should not cause any gum problem if done properly with thin, well adapted margins at or just below the gum line and with proper contours and a seal margin..... And yes if poor contours, bulky margins and tucked too far below the gum line. All dental restoration require slightly better oral hygiene as nothing is as perfect as nature.

laminates: If the laminates were designed and placed properly and you practice correct oral hygiene they should not cause gum problems.
