Infection: This would indicate an infection and should be seen by a dentist as soon as possible to determine the cause of the infection and then render appropriate treatment.

Bone loss: Either it is being caused by an infection in your gum or an infection in your tooth. Either way, you need to be evaluated to treat the problem. Feel better soon.
