Probably not: According to what I have read g6pd and periodontal disease are not associated. But don't take my word for it. Have your daughter examined by a qualified periodontist, a gum specialist. Ask your family dentist for a referral, or schedule your daughter to b e examined in the department of periodontics at a university's school of dentistry.

Maybe: Undiscovered/untreated g6pd can be associated with an increased incidence of gum disease. After reading your question more closely, it seems you are asking whether puberty may be the cause of gum problems and i answer that with a resounding yes! hormonal changes in females are connected with many gum problems. So to be brief, it is more likely puberty than g6pd.
