Decalcification: If braces are not kept clean, the teeth can become "decalcified, " meaning the calcium becomes depleted from the tooth, leaving white spots that are difficult to remove. If bleaching kits do not work, then see your dentist for "laminates", (thin porcelain coverings).

Damage: If hygiene is less than exemplary during Orthodontic Treatment the enamel next to the braces can become damaged. If braces were damaged during Orthodontic care the teeth behind the braces can become damaged. But I'm sure that if you were treated by an Orthodontic Specialist this was all explained before your treatment started. See your Dentist for restorative treatment.
