Dangerous business: While Uncle Sam lists 1.8 micrograms daily, there are plenty of unknowns. I hope that becoming a vegetarian is Junior's free choice -- if not, please reconsider -- and that you are aware that there are several other nutrients that a young vegetarian just also supplement. Get with an evidence-based vegetarian-friendly pediatrician or you can end up ruining Junior's health.
