Yes: There are no plant sources of B12 because animals (including humans!) rely on bacteria for help synthesizing this inside their bodies. You can get some B12 from eating eggs, dairy products, and fortified cereals -- but at 51, the intrinsic factor required to absorb this may be low. You may need supplementation in either vitamins by mouth or periodic B12 injections from your doctor.

This is serious: Vegetarians become B12 deficient and often by the time they are diagnosed, they have already been brain-damaged as a result. If you continue as a non-supplementing vegetarian, you will ruin your health. Period. Either give it up altogether or start supplementing (B12, iron, others as per your physician). Vegetarianism's benefits are moral, not health-promoting.
