i had. full mouth extractions yesterday . i have stopped bleeding today. i choose to leave both the top and bottom temporary dentures in. would this keep or help keep from getting a dry socket?

: The temporary dentures are sealing and covering the extraction sites, allowing a clot to form, thus preventing a dry socket. Also the dentures are keeping food and debris from entering extraction sites and causing an infection. Rember to clean the dentures when you remove them ,and put back in a clean mouth.

i had my upper teeth extracted 7 days ago... today day 7 i noticed  i little blood on my denture. ...is it normal to have bleeding on 7th day?

Possible: You had a lot of extractions in the same time, with the denture pushing on the surgical area, the pressure or the edges of the denture could be cutting or hitting hard into the gums and causing the bleeding. Your dentist will check it out and if needed adjust your denture.

had 16 teeth pulled on 5/20/14. fitted with temp dentures. still having some bleeding. is that normal? inner and outer cheeks bruised..is that normal?

It is normal 100%: It is a serious surgical procedure and is not completely risk-free. It is normal to have slight fever, bruised cheeks, slight bleeding.  Pain and swelling following surgery is usually at its worst 24 – 48 hours after surgery. After that it should subside more and more every day and after 7 days stop. Do not remove temporary denture (only for cleaning 2X/day). Get well soon.

i just got 5 teeth extractions and was still kind of bleeding when the nurse put my temp.dentures in with adhesive. i am worried that when i take them out after 24 hours, i pull the clot out and get dry socket?

: The bleeding is a good sign of no coming down with a dry socket. The dentures act as compression bandage over the bleeding sockets and promote healing. The clot will be well formed after 24 hours, so just follow post extraction instructions.

what causes a bump on the gums? ive had a thrush break out and noticed a bump on my top gum-no teeth or dentures. the bump is regularly shaped and doesnt hurt nor is it sensitive to contact with my tongue, no bleeding or draining. gum boil? abscess?

: Thrush is a fungal disease that leaves white patches not bumps on gums or cheeks. Since you have no teeth or dentures, it could be an irritation on gums from eating something hard or pointed. It could be a small root tip or piece of tooth that was left in area. See a dentist for x-ray and exam.

Puncture wound: Dental clasps can puncture your lips or cheeks if the denture is not removed carefully. Usually they are dirty with food or bacteria and therefore introduce foreign material into your wound. You should go see your local dentist for an evaluation and possibly antibiotics.

how do you clean your mouth if you wear dentures?

Easily: Use a very soft toothbrush with any toothpaste of your choice. Gently and carefully brush all of the tissues, especially the roof of the mouth and the tongue. You want healthy tissues to support your dentures. You want to help avoid developing iph -- inflammatory papillary hyperplasia -- which is very common in denture wearers who do not allow tissue rest and do not clean the mouth. Happy cleaning.

Lesion on palate: Guess it's safe to say it won't self cure. Any oral lesion present for longer than 2 weeks demands immediate evaluation. You're overdue. As you have had the lesion for 5+ years, I must assume that you are not receiving regular dental care. Please schedule an appointment immediately.
