i had tendon surgery, peroneal both, left foot. stitches were removed 5 days ago. the doctor put me in high boot even though i am confined to bed.

Normal: He's trying to protect the tendon while its healing still. The tendons will take 6-12 weeks in general to get strong again. The boot prevents ankle bending. Bending the ankle even in bed  stretches the repair this may be your issue.

is it okay to walk on a foot with stitches in it?

Depends: Where on the foot are they? Why were they put in? But, ultimately it should be up to the doc who put them in.....

hard to say: Without examining the wound it is hard to say. As a rule they are seldom used on the bottom of the foot because of their tendency to become infected.The flow of blood can be reduced by using a pressure bandage over the site. Frequent cleaning and monitoring of the site should be sufficient and the bleeding should stop .If not, seek an evaluation.

i am normally healthy but after recent trauma to my foot (10 stitches to top of my foot) i have swollen foot after short time. what can i do?

See your Dr: Swelling is normal after any injury. Try elevating the foot & taking Motrin if medically allowed. If there is increased pain, redness, warmth, or purulent drainage from the wound, you might have an infection in which case you should see your dr as soon as possible.

See below: This is often normal, but you should have your surgeon check them to make sure you are not developing an infection.

Suture removal: Ideally, you should be able to resume activity once the stitches come out. Best advice is to consult with your doctor about particular activities that may not be ok just yet.

Could be normal: As long as not red or painful. Many times after trauma, soft tissue may swell for many weeks: especially if active on feet.

A stitch in time.: It is impossible to tell without seeing the damage. Having said that, cuts have healed for thousands of years without stitches. To remove all doubt, see a physician.

Many possibilities: Can still have tenderness a month later, but I would follow up with the treating doc.,.
