how long should i change retainers after invisalign? i have 2 retainers. i was thinking every 3 months? and than buy a new set of retainers?

3 to 6 months: But ask your treating dentist or orthodontist what their recommendation is, since the above time frame is a general rule.

i wear invisalign retainers at night after my invisalign treatment. should i change my toothbrush every month/more frequently since i wear these?

Not necessarily...: Every four to six months should be fine, sooner only if you feel that the toothbrush has worn out due excessive wear and tear.

i forgot to change out my invisalign at the 2 week mark, is this bad?

Not necessarily..: It just may prolong your treatment by a bit. Your treating dentist or orthodontist would be better prepared to guide you.

i am supposed to wear my invisalign trays for one week and then change them. after wearing tray 1 for 4.5 days it feels completely normal. can i change into tray 2 2.5 days early if it feels like they fit well?

Orthodontics: Tooth movement, whether via traditional brackets and wires or by plastic trays must be accomplished in a slow, steady pace. Bone resorbs on one side of the tooth socket, whereas bone remodels and forms on the opposite side of the socket. Trying to move teeth too fast can cause permanent damage to the underlying bone. This damage cannot be repaired. Follow your instructions.

i have been wearing my retainers at night for 8 months after invisalign, prior 9 months all day. do i have to wear every night or every other night?

Wear Retainers: It is really important that your dentist check you. 
a. maybe you need adjustment
b maybe you can stop wearing them (yaah!)
c.maybe you can adjust schedule.

The biggest errors occur when retainers are not checked on a regular schedule.

can wearing my vivera retainers longer than 3 months cause my teeth to shift back. i changed it at 4 months. do i need to restart invisalign?

No: If the retainers are properly fit and not worn out wearing them will not allow very much shift. Switching to the new retainer should provide a tighter fit and correct what slight change may have occurred. You must wear them as directed... usually every night.

Teeth can shift: This should be discussed with your treating dentist beforehand. If your teeth shift, the trays may not fit... That will result in the need for additional impressions, additional treatment time, and additional expense. Best to know how your dentist will handle to change in treatment.

i broke my invisalign tray a week into its cycle. it was already feeling loose and the next tray is not uncomfortable. is it okay to just move on?

Invisalign Sequence: The new tray must fit perfectly onto your dentition, otherwise it will not work properly. If it does not work properly, that small error will be passed on and magnified for every successive tray. Let your treating dentist take a look.. it only takes a minute... and you may prevent the need to manufacture an entire new set of trays.

how long does it take invisalign to make tighter retainers? its been 7 weeks and dental office tells me retainers are in manufacture state

Not 7 weeks: There may be an issue with the impressions that your dental office is unaware of. The office should be able to contact Invisalign directly through their internet portal or by phone to determine the cause of the delay. You can always try calling Invisalign yourself.

i have tmj.  i got invisalign almost two weeks ago. it is difficult to open my mouth wide. without invisalign i'm fine, should i stop wearing them?

More info needed...: Why is it difficult to open your mouth? Are the muscles in spasm, or are the trays cutting into your cheeks and causing pain? It's best to have your treating dentist evaluate the fit and determine if the treatment and your issues are related.
