3 to 6 months: But ask your treating dentist or orthodontist what their recommendation is, since the above time frame is a general rule.

Invisalign recommend: that Vivera (Essix) be changed every 3-6 months. However, many orthodontists suggest with good care, Vivera's should last 12 to 18 month. Take care.

Only when needed: Ask your treating Dentist or (preferably) Orthodontic Specialist to periodically evaluate "fit" of retainers. They probably do not have to be replaced unless worn through or broken.
