It could: See a dentist asap.  The abscess can grow and you could end up in the emergency room to avoid death.

No infection: suspected. Need infection to get Osteomyelitis (spread of infection to bone) sepsis (infection that has spread to the blood stream) or a brain abscess.

Jaw Pain: Unfortunately, sometimes when we have a serious situation such as you do we just have to go be seen despite the fact we have no insurance.  Most of us don't have dental insurance.  You need to get this taken care of as this potentially could be disfiguring and even life threatening.  Explain your situation to who cares for you, they may be able to help with payments etc.  Good luck.

Seek care now: An abscess is an infection, and MUST be treated immediately or can adversely affect knee surgery.  Ask your Dentist and your Orthopedic Surgeon to talk to each other to arrive at the best path of treatment for you.  Do not put this off.

i have pain in the neck before the extraction of my abscessed tooth and the jaw pain has improved some but my neck/ throat has been worse i don't notice sweeping but when i drink water or any thing it feels like acid going down the side of my throat?

Persistent pain: If you are immediately post-surgical this may be a transient problem.  If you are at least 4 days post-surgical call the General Dentist or Oral Surgeon who did your surgery for a post-treatment reevaluation.

jaw pain : When does your jaw hurt and is the toothache in the same area?  Does the tooth that hurts seem to be a single tooth or multiple teeth?  Do you grind your teeth at night?  Do you see any swelling or  pus around the tooth- see a dentist and they can take an x- ray to determine if it might be an abscess.

Possibly: Your infection may still be local in nature. A fever may not be present. You will need more than just fillings if you have an abscess... All the best.

Sure: Emotional stress and anxiety can make any and all pains feel worse. That's one of the characteristics of pain... how one feels or perceives pain is influenced by one's state of mind, one's state of emotions. It can go the other way too... such as in a fight-or-flight response, where you don't feel the pain at all, as you're running from that raccoon chasing you.
