A member asked:

Is it true that a lubricated speculum used for cervical swab in checking for chlamydia/gonorrhea would likely give you false-results? ive read somewhere that it does. is this even true even when using pcr swab testing? thank you?

What you "read somewhere" is wrong. This doesn't happen. Your several questions suggest you are over-searching the web about chlamydia testing. If you must continue, limit yourself to professional or professionally moderated websites. Disregard claims of unusual experiences by persons who have been tested or sites run by and for people at risk (like Reddit).

If carefully done by an experienced doc it should not affect checking for any VD or ithe tests
